WHY VEGAN?

Animals are sentinent beings. They feel physical pain just as you or I do
They also suffer emotionally with depression and stress

An animal being reared for slaughter will often have a miserable life of pain and suffering many of times of a dark, damp shed packed in with loads of other animals without much room to move and with disease ridden throughout. If they manage to be lucky enough to avoid disease, to avoid being abused by the farmers/workers, they will always meet the same fate and that is the slaughter house. A horrible place of genocide where animals are queued up to be killed in many different ways depending on the animals. The process of the slaughter house can take the majority of the day for the animal and sometimes the animal is taken to the slaughterhouse the night before. These poor sentinent beings are not stupid, even the birds which many people for some reason consider not to be as intelligent, still know what is coming for them. They can smell the blood and fear from all the other animals being or awaiting slaughter. They can hear the screams and smell the death.

In the UK and many other countries around the world they use a form of stunning to stun the animal first so that it is not conscious when it is killed. Quite often though this stunning method does not work and the animals are slaughtered while they are fully conscious and they feel every bit of pain. This is due to many of times poor training, or just simply that due to the large number of animals that will go through a slaughterhouse in one day everything is done very quick and factory like without a care in the world for the animal.

Many slaughter houses and farms have been uncovered which you can view on youtube and the rest of the internet for breaking the law. In these videos you can see workers throwing the animals around, punching and kicking them, laughing at them, shouting at them and abusing them as much as possible. These are not one off instances but happen all the time. Slaughterhouses and factory farms are usually very guarded places but every now and then people do get in with filming devices and film what really happens. more...
