Farmed animals are not, generally, what you expect. Having said that, cows are nosey - oh, boy, are they nosey and getting a job done around these cows is virtually impossible. But I'm sure that you get the essence of what I'm saying. Pigs aren't dirty, they don't smell and sheep aren't stupid.
It would appear to be our means of justification for the wrong that we do them.
Farmed animals have the same emotional capacity as traditional animal companions like dogs and cats, yet modern cruelty laws do not apply to them. Under the law, they are seen as mere objects for human use.
At FRIEND, we fill a need in the Kent area by advocating for farm animals through rescue and education. We believe that our work and through this website we can help change perceptions of farm animals and create a deeper respect for the rich emotional lives of these animals.
